Gruss Loops – Volume VII is here!

I’m happy to announce that the wait is finally over. Gruss Loops Volume VII is now available! With some major studio upgrades at Gruss Headquarters over the past month, I think you’ll be able to hear the enriched sonic textures that only a few thousand dollars made out to Steve Jobs can bring. If you put your mouth against the speakers, you might even be able to taste it. Ok, enough talk. Let’s take a listen to the goods. Subscribers, just click the box below to access all of the new loops.

142_TomKruze – This set of loops doesn’t like to jump on Oprah’s couch, play air guitar in tighty-whities or refer to people as “glib”. They do, however, like to show off everyone’s favorite part of the drum set: the toms. Not in the Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight” type of way, but rather, a more bit-crushed, experimental and (dare I say?) dance sort of way.

144_CoffeeOD – When I moved from NYC last year, I swore off Red Bull for good. There was a point in my life where I literally went through that shit by the case. It was not unusual to see one of these pull up in front of my apartment in the middle of the night, making a “barter exchange” of sorts. Now, deep in the suburbs of New England, far from those silly looking promotional vehicles, my new drug of choice is iced coffee. Huh? That’s the same drug? Well, regardless, I recorded this after drinking about 3 ventis (cream & 2 Splenda).

227_DoubleUp – Who doesn’t like some uptempo, feel good, rock grooves? Keeping the beat nice and solid, the production punchy and clean and the tempo brisk enough to make people move, these are the loops that will satisfy fans of both Judas and Jonas.

109_The_Grinder – After eating and drinking myself sick this past Thanksgiving, the only thing left to do was put my loops through the same sort of punishment. “The Grinder” pedal in Logic 9 is much like drinking tequila. You start off with just a little bit… it feels pretty good. You have a little more, wow… that REALLY feels good. You decide, after your sixth shot, to drink straight from the bottle, twist the knob and run naked through the streets. I like to think of this set of loops as The Grinder on drink number five.

250_Jazzercize – You don’t need to dress like this in order to record something on top of these jazz loops. Though, if you want to submit pics, I’ll gladly post them on this blog. These grooves are a mix of New Orleans-esque street beats, Afro-Cuban tom patterns and straight ahead bebop.

110_CashMoney – I’m not talking about Gangsta-style Cash Money. After you receive that first ASCAP royalty check from the Top 40 hit you penned using these particular loops, you’ll know about the kind of cash I’m talking about. Just promise me you’ll spend most of it on something reasonable like a classy McMansion.
