The most highly anticipated loop pack in the history of recorded music (or just perhaps this blog?) is finally here. Gruss Loops Vol XI has just dropped louder, harder and funkier than J. Lo from Sony. Packaging this fluorescent shade of purple can only mean one thing: mind blowing loops. Volume XI contains over 265 MB worth of high quality, fire-your-mediocre-drummer-inducing beats. Subscribers, just click here to download this gem of a loop pack. The rest of you freeloaders, feel free to take a closer listen below and jam along in your mom’s basement with the mp3s.
Don’t confuse this with Watergate. Dick Nixon and Deep Throat weren’t involved with the recording of this set of beats (at least from what I can remember). DanceGate takes an acoustic drum kit playing a variety of “four on the floor” grooves and cuts it up with some very tight gating to sound as if it were put together by some guy like this… but except this isn’t totally lame.
My last name might be Gruss, but there must be some Latino genes kicking around somewhere deep in my DNA. Whenever I first sit down at my drum kit, I almost always find myself
wanking warming up with some sort of songo groove. I don’t know if it’s the melodic interaction with the toms, or just the chance to hit the cowbell on every quarter note, I love playing this type of groove.
Do you finally have your much-awaited audition with Dream Theater? Or perhaps you’re just trying practice along to some Rush-style grooves? Well, consider yourself lucky. This set of loops in 9/8 will help you become the fusion GOD of odd meters. One extra eighth note on top of a 4/4 groove, this is like the relentless hiccup of pop beats. Now, hold your breath for as long as you can and get down with your prog self.
Huh.. what’s that sound… the popping.. the hiss? It sounds like… vinyl! Damn straight. We don’t just do things in the digital realm around here. We have time machines and shit. What other loop site can give you this type of vintage warmth along with a backbeat strong enough to keep Amy Winehouse from nodding off in the middle of a song?
He’s dated Cameron Diaz. He’s dated Brittney Spears. He has his own restaurant and bar in NYC. He used to look like this. He put his d*#k in a box and made everything cool. It’s about time we honor Mr. T with a series of beats.
